Denison -- This Sunday, the people at Red River Unitarian Universalist Church will listen to five members of the congregation deliver their personal credo statements during the 11:15 a.m. Morning Assembly in a program called "Testifying With Minds on Fire."

Credo literally means, “I give my heart and loyalty to …”  Unitarian Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote “The true preacher can be known by this:  they he [or she] deals out to the people their life, a life passed through the fire of thought.”  The tradition of church members sharing their credo is long standing in the congregation.  This special Credo Sunday will include statements from Ronda Decaire, David Dyer, Joe Jordan, Donna Toerper and Linda Tracy.

Also during the Assembly, new members will be formally welcomed into the congregation with a New Member Induction Ceremony.

The 10:00 a.m. Adult Forum will continue the six part film series is a journey through two thousand years of Unitarian Universalist History.  This Sunday’s film discusses the birth of Unitarianism from 1553 – 1794.

On Thursday, Feb 23 the congregation will gather for the annual Appreciation Dinner at which time the Bruce Cameron Distinguished Service Award will be given.  The Bruce Cameron Distinguished Service Award is the most prestigious award given by the Red River Unitarian Universalist Church and represents the congregation's gratitude, appreciation and recognition for volunteer efforts of individual members.

Red River Unitarian Universalist Church, 515 North Burnett Ave, welcomes all.
