Leonard, TX – A Meet the Candidate Forum will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at Leonard City Hall from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Attendees are invited to arrive beginning at 7:00 pm to meet the candidates. The forum will begin promptly at 7:20 pm. Candidates running for Leonard I.S.D. School Board Trustee and candidates for Leonard City Council Places 1, 3 and 5 have been invited to participate.
Voters are encouraged to take this opportunity to hear from their school board and city council candidates as well as to get to know candidates’ priorities and views. Equally as important, this forum with give Leonard citizens the chance to let their candidates know about the issues that are important to them.
Mayor Steve Bolin will moderate the forum. Candidates will provide opening statements, answer questions, and provide closing statements.
Twelve candidates are on the ballot for the Leonard I.S.D. School Board Trustee election, and seven are on the ballot for the Leonard City Council election. Election day is May 6 and voting will be conducted at Leonard City Hall, 111 West Collin St. for candidates to fill four at-large L.I.S.D trustee positions as well as three positions on the City Council (Place 1, 3, and 5). Early voting will begin at City Hall on Monday April 24 and will continue through Tuesday May 2. Early voting hours generally will be from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm during this period. However, extended early voting hours will be available Thursday April 27 and Tuesday May 2 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
