Bonham, TX — August 9, 2017 — Volunteers with Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Disaster Relief are headed to the Chicago suburbs to help clean out homes that were affected by severe flooding in northern Illinois.

A cleanup/recovery unit operated by Boyd Baptist Church in Bonham will deploy Saturday morning and head to Illinois to help remove mold from homes.  Upon arriving in Grays Lake, IL, the crew plans to spend about 6 days serving flood victims.

“We’re there to serve Jesus Christ,” said group leader Monte Furrh of Bonham.

Furrh will be leading a crew of about a dozen SBTC Disaster Relief volunteers.
