On Saturday, February 10, six Dodd City HS band students participated in UIL Solo/Ensemble Contest at Rockwall Heath HS.  The students played four solos and two trios for judges, who gave them ratings and comments.  For most of them, this was their first time to play for a judge, and all students received a rating of either superior or excellent.

Freshmen Chase Lyde, Riley Stephens, and Prairie Wild are eligible to move on to the State Solo/Ensemble Contest in May.  Mrs. Wild couldn't be prouder of all six students for the initiative they showed, the practice time they put in, and the skills and experience they gained through this process.  Congratulations!  Thank you to Mrs. Sara Greenwell for her piano accompaniment.

(L-R) Riley Stephens, flute; Cailyn Nolen, flute; Chase Lyde, clarinet; Zoee Reese, percussion; Prairie Wild, flute; Mrs. Wild, and Pate Wilkerson, trumpet
