Fannin County, Texas -- After massive rainfall totaling over 15 inches fell in Bonham the prior week, the community experienced considerable flooding as did 8 holes of Legacy Ridge Country Club. The course was constructed with knowledge that the course might flood but the design allows for timely drainage.  Now that log jams have been removed, the high volume of water drained from the course quickly leaving no damage to the greens.  Legacy Ridge Country Club staff had all 18 holes open for play within days.  They are now preparing for upcoming community events.

Legacy Ridge Country Club will host the TMC Hospital Auxiliary Golf Tournament on Friday, October 5, 2018.  The proceeds from this tournament will be used by the hospital to purchase new equipment and fund construction projects.  Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m.

Registration includes green fees, golf carts, putting contest, driving range, hamburgers, hotdogs and prizes.

For the third year, Legacy Ridge Country Club and Glaser Family Charitable Foundation will sponsor the Bonham Out of the Darkness Community Walk being held on Saturday, October 6, 2018.  Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP).  This event brings family, friends and supporters together for a 2.7 mile walk while being surrounded by beautiful scenery.  Registration and breakfast start at 8:00 a.m. and the walk begins at 8:30 a.m.  Online registration closes at noon on Friday, October 5.  Register at www.afsp.org/Bonham.   Anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk. Registration is free and open to the public.  However, donations are appreciated.  Call (903)583-4241 for further information.
