Bonham, Texas -- Billye Charlene Poliakoff, better known as "Charlie", passed away at her home of 55 years on the morning of October 5, 2018 at the age of 88, after a long and courageous battle with myelofibrosis.  She was born on November 10, 1929 in Atoka, Oklahoma.

Charlie was preceded in death by her father Jefferson Davis Case, mother Lizzie Lovell Towery Case, and 9 of her 11 siblings: Earl Case, Lucille Williams, Christine Magness, Katherine Fundaro, Merlene Bonner, Geraldine Johnson, Pauline Williams, Norma Redman, and Carolyn Sue Owens.  Charlie was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Justice Faith Wheeler.  Charlie is survived by two siblings: Harold Case and Marilyn Whittington.

On September 13, 1958, Charlie married Leon Poliakoff, her beloved husband of 52 years, who preceded her in death on May 31, 2011.  She is survived by five children and their spouses: Michael Poliakoff and his wife Laura, Susan Krominga and her husband Dennis, Benjamin Poliakoff, Samuel Poliakoff, and Ruth Ann Fox, all of whom affectionately knew Charlie as “Mom”.  She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  She is and will be greatly missed by all of those who had the privilege and honor to have known her, including 29 nephews and nieces ... and their spouses and children.

Although her passing leaves a tremendous emptiness in the lives of those who knew her, Charlie will forever be in our hearts.  Family was the utmost priority in Charlie’s life.  “Take care of family” were among her last words as she passed, and this was the driving force behind everything she did in her life – everything.  Charlie was the "heart" of her immediate and extended family, for whom her guiding light of principles, wise council, timely humor, awe-inspiring inner strength, and ... above all, her love ... were and are treasured far beyond what mere words can express.

We love you, Mom.
