A Taste of the 1890s

Greenville, Texas -- Join us at the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum on a journey back in time on Saturday, May 11.  From 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. you will be transported back to the 1890s for an evening of tasting food you may have never tried before and some old-fashioned fun! (I bet it’s been awhile since you’ve played croquet)

As you meander around the museum grounds make sure to stop by the cabin for some refreshments and appetizers.  Remember the days of sarsaparilla and cream soda!  Have a relaxing time enjoying dessert at Mrs. Ende’s Lawn Party in front of the Ende-Gailliard House.

No chocolate chip cookies here - they weren’t invented until 1938!

Have you ever tried a piece of drunk fruit chess pie or a jumble cookie?

Try on an old-fashioned outfit and get your photo taken at the house.  Take a stroll through the museum and partake in the delicious main course . . . shh, we’re still keeping those dishes a secret!

Tickets cost $28 for museum members and $30 for non-members.  Contact the Museum at (903) 450-4502 for more information or to purchase tickets.
