Sherman, Texas -- Daniel Thompson, Executive Director at Texoma Community Center (TCC) announced Wednesday that he has been selected to serve as executive director with another community center in Texas.

“While there is seldom a perfect time to move on, I am proud of where the Center is and where we are headed,” said Thompson.  “In the five years since coming to Texoma, we have greatly expanded our array of services, adding over 20 new programs, while prepping the Center for the new Federal and State healthcare model for community centers, which will focus on healthcare outcomes.  Additionally, our management team is experienced, knowledgeable and will continue to strengthen the community collaborations and partnerships that enhance services for people in our area.”

Following Thompson’s announcement, the Board appointed Dr. Diana Cantu, Deputy Executive Director, to serve as Interim Executive Director.  Thompson and Cantu will work together to transition leadership over the next two months.  A search committee comprised of trustees has been named to review applicants and will  make a recommendation to the full board as to who should replace Thompson.

“We are fortunate to have had Daniel’s leadership and are proud of the Center’s accomplishment under his direction,” said Billy Hamilton, board chair.  “We wish him well and look forward to continuing the momentum he and the staff have generated expanding programs and services.”

Thompson’s last day at the Center will be August 31.  The search committee will begin their work within the next few weeks.
