Honey Grove, Texas -- Funeral services for John Allen "Nicky" Nichols, 74, of Windom, Texas will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Windom First Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Cunningham will officiate. Interment will follow at Windom Cemetery. Nicky passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Texoma Medical Center Hospital in Bonham, Texas.

John Allen Nichols was born in Honey Grove, Texas on December 8, 1944 to John D. and Alice Eugenia (Orr) Nichols. He married Ella Louise (Craig) Nichols on February17, 1965 in San Jose, CA. Nicky served in the United States Navy. He worked as a logistics supervisor for a Kimberly Clark in Paris, TX before retiring.

Nicky enjoyed working on the farm with daddy and his mowing business. He was a member of Windom Baptist Church, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by wife, Ella Nichols of the home; daughter, Shelly Kirby and husband Jimmy of Windom, TX; son-in-law, Jerry Harlan of Dodd City, TX; grandchildren, Jessica Zavala and husband Victor of Windom, TX; Clayton Kirby of Windom, TX; Katie Coleman and husband Brooke of San Antonio, TX; and Ethen Bowman of Denison, TX; great grandchildren, Adrian Coleman and Addie Colman of San Antonio, TX; Elleni Zavala and Gabriel Zavala of Balch Springs, TX and Wade Kirby of Ector, mother, Jean Nichols of Windom, TX, and nephews, Chad Whisenhunt and Keith Daniels.

He is preceded in death by his father, John D. Nichols, daughters, Laurie Nichols and Nikki Nichols and sister, Elaine Whisenhunt.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Nichols, James Nichols, Keith Daniels, Chad Whisenhunt, Brad Oliver, Lance Oliver, Clayton Kirby, Dylan Daniels and Ethan Bowman. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Wade Kirby, Adrian Coleman and Gabriel Zavala.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Honey Grove, Texas from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
