Bonham, Texas -- The 2022 Bonham Lady Warriors got in a full day's work on Saturday at scrimmages in Whitesboro in preparation for the season opener at home Tuesday, August 9 against the Farmersville Lady Farmers.

Bonham's first-year head coach Emily Vanderburg is optimistic after the scrimmages and expecting to learn a lot more about her team when the Lady Warriors take on Class 4A Farmersville.

"I think the scrimmages went pretty well," Coach Vanderburg remarked. "We saw a lot of good things and then, of course, some things we need to work on to get better. Tuesday will definitely test what type of fight and mental toughness we have."

After the home opener Tuesday, Bonham will see a lot of action at tournaments in Princeton (Aug. 11 & 13) and Krum (Aug. 18 & 20).

The Lady Warriors then return to the friendly confines of Leonard Gerner Gymnasium at Bonham High School to host Chisum on Friday, August 19 and Callisburg on Tuesday, August 23.

The 2022 Bonham Volleyball Tournament, slated for August 25 and August 27 will give volleyball fans a chance to see several local teams compete.
