Bonham, Texas -- Dangerous weather forced a one-day delay, but the City of Bonham invites all the public to attend a City Celebration now scheduled for Friday, February 3, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Bonham City Hall, located at 514 Chestnut Street, to kick off Bonham’s 175th Birthday Celebration.
This celebratory event will feature the reveal of Bonham’s 175th Anniversary Logo and a printed calendar of year-long communitywide celebratory events. A formal recognition ceremony to express our pride and appreciation for the many civic and economic benefits that our community has enjoyed over the past 175 years will begin a 12:00 p.m., with comments from the Mayor, H.L. Compton and a group photo of all in attendance to follow. Cake and light refreshments will be served.
On October 10, 2022, on behalf of the City Council of the City of Bonham, Texas, Mayor H.L. Compton read and signed “City of Bonham’s 175th Anniversary Proclamation” whereas, February 2, 2023 marks the 175th anniversary of the City of Bonham.
We urge all citizens to join in commemorating the City of Bonham’s Terquasquicentennial Anniversary and saluting our rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. We look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion with our residents, community, businesses, visitors, and beyond.
