Bonham, Texas -- Betty Jane Daly, 79, passed away after a short illness on November 15, 2023, at the VA Community Living Center in Bonham, TX.

Graveside services will be held for Mrs. Betty Daly will be Friday, November 17, 2023, at Restland Cemetery in Roxton, TX, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Joshua Daly will preside.

Betty was born November 30, 1943, to parents, William Vincent Huiras, and Hilda Mae Tilstra, in French Camp, California. After graduating from high school in Stockton, California, she enlisted in the United States Army on July 2, 1962, where she served as a medical specialist for a
little over two years. While she was in the Army, Betty met the love of her life Joseph D. Daly.

The couple was married on August 1, 1964, and went on to have two children, Michelle, and Joshua.

Betty continued her medical career by working as a CNA in various hospitals and nursing homes for 35 years. Nursing homes were her favorite place to work as she especially loved to work with the residents.

Everyone who knew her was aware of her love for decorating for the various seasons, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. Betty was very gifted at crafting, quilting, sewing, and painting. She also enjoyed gardening and loved watching her flowers grow each year.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always made room for the needs of others.

Mrs. Daly is preceded in death by her parents, brother, William Huiras, and sister Shirley Wildermuth.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe Daly, two children, Michelle Welch, and husband Tim; Joshua Daly and wife Karen, granddaughter; Savannah Welch, grandson; Jeremiah Welch and wife Kaitlyn along with her great grandchildren, Abilene Rose Welch, and Josie
Laurel Welch.
