Van Alstyne, Texas -- Mantua will celebrate the grand opening of The Commons Amenity Park with “Uncommonly Good Fun” 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at 1824 St. David Lane in Van Alstyne, Texas.

The event invites the public to explore the amenity park while enjoying special activities.

"This new park is a gathering spot for residents, and we want to give the public a taste of what people who live in Mantua are able to enjoy every day,” said Mantua Developer Michael Hanschen. “With pickleball, playgrounds, a pavilion, gardens and hammock station, The Commons is a fine complement to our other amenities that elevate the lifestyle in Mantua.”

During the event, young visitors can enjoy spin art and design their own insulated lunch bag. Guests of all ages can try their hand at nine holes of mini golf while an instructor will be onsite at the pickleball courts with tips on elevating your game. There will also be an airbrush tattooist and a giant Lego game. Attendees can make their own picnic baskets from an assortment of sandwiches, chips and drinks, with a lemonade bar and dessert options adding to the mix of refreshments.

Admission to the event is free but attendees are asked to RSVP at https://www.mantuantx.com/the-commons-grand-opening/

Already open in Mantua is The Veranda Community Center, complete with indoor and outdoor gathering places, a splash zone and resort-style pool. Residents also enjoy nature trails and park space within the community. An onsite tree farm will raise approximately 11,000 trees and a dog park is planned.

Four builders offer homes priced from the $360,000s in Mantua — David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Perry Homes and Risland Homes. The community’s eight model homes are open daily.
