Paris, Texas – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a project to replace the Brushy Creek bridge at FM 1753 in Fannin County will get underway June 12.

Highway 19 Construction LLC, Sulphur Springs, Texas, was granted 69 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $2.9 million. The contractor anticipates starting work on June 12. The target completion date is October 2024, officials said.

The contractor will demolish the bridge currently over Brushy Creek, and build at new bridge and roadway approaches, officials said.

The roadway and bridge at this location will be closed while this work is underway. A signed detour will direct traffic during the closure to another route. The detour will use FM 1752, US 82, FM 898 and FM 2645. Travelers are asked to pay special attention to signs and message boards while this construction is underway.

Motorists who travel frequently in these areas are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
