Fannin County, Texas -- The Fannin Central Appraisal District has been notified that there is a person or persons approaching property owners claiming to be a representative of the Appraisal District. This scam is telling owners that their property will be sold at tax sale next week unless they pay the delinquent taxes owed today. They are asking for payment.
THIS IS A SCAM. The appraisal district WILL NOT request funds or payment from a property owner at their home. PLEASE CONTACT THE APPRAISAL DISTRICT (903-583-8701) to confirm any person at your property claiming to be with the appraisal district. Call the police department and/or sheriff’s office as well.
