Paris, Texas -- Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that FM 409 in Fannin County will close for cross structure repairs beginning July 29.

RB Contracting LLC will remove and replace an existing cross structure on FM 409, from 3,500 feet east of FM 2029. Those who travel frequently in this area will have to use a signed detour instead, officials said.

Portable message boards will be in place starting July 22 to alert travelers to this closure, which is expected to last about two weeks.

Motorists who travel frequently in these areas are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
