Fannin County, Texas -- Upper Trinity Regional Water District, in coordination with Texas Department of Transportation – Paris District, recently closed the FM 2990 bridge over the North Sulphur River to traffic. The closure on July 8 was a necessary part of construction for Lake Ralph Hall. The roadway on either side of the bridge remains open to local traffic, and fossil hunters can access the temporary Ladonia Fossil Park via SH 34 and FM 1550.

Signage has been placed to alert drivers, who are encouraged to stay tuned to the lake’s Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) for the latest updates.

The temporary Ladonia Fossil Park location will remain open until Upper Trinity begins filling Lake Ralph Hall. After the lake fills, Upper Trinity will build a new, permanent fossil park to provide fossil hunters with access to the North Sulphur River. Visit lakeralphhall.com for more information and updates about the fossil park.
