Bonham, TX -- The Creative Arts Center offers a wide variety of art classes for all ages.  For kids, there will be a Kids Crafts class on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Sept 10, 17 and 24.  There will also be kids paint party on September 14.  Mixed Media for Teens (ages 13-17) will be on Sept. 10 and 24 and for Tweens (ages 10-13) on Sept. 11 and 25.

Chris Cravens will be teaching watercolor for adults every Thursday in September from 1:00-3:00 p.m.  Basket Weaving will be on Sept 20 and Barn Quilt painting on September 28.  Brush and Brunch will include painting and a meal on Sept 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Yoga classes meet weekly on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. and Chair Yoga meets on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m.  Belly Dancing classes will meet weekly on Wednesday evenings starting on September 4.

Music in the Garden will kick off a six week series of free concerts on Thursday evenings, starting on Sept 19.  Watusi will take the stage at 7:00 p.m.  The Center is excited to bring back Bonham’s own Jimi Watusi. Jimi has performed with, and opened shows for the biggest names in Reggae music including The Wailers. His shows will have you dancing and singing right along with him. Jimi is bringing a wonderful friend along to play guitar named Kenny Withrow. Kenny's 40-year career had him playing with many great artists, including The New Bohemians.  They have invited Brad Silwood of Bonham to play his saxophone. This will be a show that should not be missed.  

North Texas Giving Day is also on September 19, so the center will be hosting a community celebration on that day from 6:00-9:00 p.m.  Nonprofits participating in the giving day will be set up around the garden, sharing information about their missions.  Guests will be encouraged to donate to their favorite charities. Credit Union of Texas will be giving away free tacos from their food truck. Neighbors Place Winery will have wine slushies and wine by the glass available for purchase.

Readers theatre is scheduled for Friday, Sept 20.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the shows will start at 7:00 p.m.  Performers will read two comedies that evening, with light refreshments provided during the intermission between the two plays.  Admission is free and donations will be encouraged.  Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages.

The Center will be hosting a Dia de los Muertos event on November 2.  They are currently seeking vendors and food trucks for the event.  More details and registration is available on the center’s website.
