Dodd City, Texas -- Volleyball fans were treated to a five-set nail-biter Tuesday night when the Dodd City Lady Hornets hosted the Sam Rayburn Lady Rebels.

Sam Rayburn took the opener, 25-23, but Dodd City came out on top in the next two sets, 25-22 and 25-18.

Sam Rayburn pulled even in the match with a 25-19 victory in the fourth set.

The teams battled to a 13-13 tie in the tiebreaker before Sam Rayburn knocked down the final two points of the night for a 15-13 victory.

Addison Weeks knocked down 19 kills to lead the Dodd City attack, Gracyn Shindler put down 11 kills, Kaleigh McBrayer had a big night with eight kills, Emma Garner slammed down six kills and Kendyl Lindsey had two kills.

Weeks dished out 14 assists and Shindler handed out 12 assists.

Kenzi Freeman came up with a team-high 28 digs and Weeks was close behind with 26 digs.

Ralyn Daniel distributed 13 assists and Carolyn Lackey had two blocks.

Dodd City will compete in the Saint Jo Tournament on Thursday.
