Pattonville, Texas -- The Leonard Lady Tigers improved to 3-1 on the season with a 13-point win over the Prairiland Lady Patriots.
Leonard started fast with an 11-5 run in the first quarter. Prairiland had a slight scoring advantage in the second period, but Leonard had a 22-18 lead at the half.
The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Patriots 18-10 in the third quarter to give Leonard a 40-28 cushion going into the final frame. The teams traded baskets in the fourth quarter to give Leonard a 52-39 win on the road.
Leonard's Avery Ross finished with a team-high 14 points, Bella Neaville had another double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, Parker Evans knocked down nine points and grabbed six boards, and Riley Brown put up eight points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Kylie Houser scored seven, Micaela Garza pitched in four points to go along with three rebounds, Cheyanne Clark dished off four assists and had a pair of rebounds, Trinity Newby had an assist, one rebound and one steal, and Kaylee Lewis had one assist.
The Leonard Lady Tigers will compete in the Saltillo Basketball Tournament this weekend.
