Leonard, Texas -- The Bonham Lady Warriors stepped into the lair of the Leonard Lady Tigers on Tuesday for a non-district contest. Bonham came into the game with a 10-3 record and Leonard was 7-5.
Both teams put together impressive runs to start the game.
Leonard opened up with a 13-0 run in the first quarter.
In the second period, Bonham battled back with an 11-0 run to whittle Leonard's lead down to 13-11.
Leonard's Riley Brown worked inside for a basket, but Bonham answered when AB Green grabbed an offensive rebound and took it back up for two points.
At halftime, Leonard had a 16-14 lead.
The game began slipping away from Bonham when Leonard opened up the second half with a 9-0 run to stretch the Lady Tigers' advantage to 25-14.
Despite a pair of buckets by Bonham's Hingrid Pedraza, Leonard took a 30-22 lead into the fourth quarter en route to a 41-26 victory.
Leonard's Bella Neaville poured in 17 points to lead all scorers and Riley Brown was also in double digits with 11 points. Avery Ross scored six, Cheyanne Clark finished with four points and Parker Evans pitched in three points.
Hingrid Pedraza led Bonham with seven points, Jenna Lindsay scored six, Parker Patton put up four points, AB Green had three points, with Jentri Dunlap, Aaliyah Gonzales and Gray Lancaster all tossed in two points apiece.
The Lady Tigers will compete in the Craig Reed Invitational Basketball Tournament in Dodd City December 6-7.
The Lady Warriors will compete in the Celeste Basketball Tournament December 5-7.
