By family and friends
May 9, 2005

Melanie Reneé Crunk and Bart Jayson Biggers, both of Dallas, were married April 16, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church of Bonham.  Reverend Doug Miller of the First United Methodist Church of Frisco, former pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Bonham, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Crunk of Bonham.  She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Crunk of Ivanhoe and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harris of Bartley-Woods.  She graduated from Bonham High School in 1997 and from Southern Methodist University in 2000, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.  She is a real estate agent with the Dallas Preston Center regional office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Company.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Biggers of Bonham.  His grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. James L. Atnip and the late Dr. and Mrs. L.C. Biggers.  After graduating from Bonham High School in 1994, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in political science and business from Texas Christian University in 1998 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2001.  Mr. Biggers is an attorney in the corporate/securities and mergers and acquisitions practice groups in the Dallas office of Haynes and Boone, LLP.

Matron of honor was the bride’s cousin, Ms. April Prevost of Humble.  Ms. Kelly Nelson of Dallas was bridesmaid.  The flower girl was Miss Addison Haynes of  North Richland Hills.  Ms. Andrea Eaves of Ivanhoe, cousin of the bride, distributed wedding programs.

Blake Biggers of Dallas served as his brother’s best man.  Brent Biggers of Bonham and Fort Worth served as his brother’s groomsman.  Ushers were Jeff Crawford of Sugarland, the groom’s cousin; Wesley Crunk of Bonham, the bride’s brother; and Casey Keating of San Marcos, the bride’s cousin.

Cole Crawford of Sugarland, the groom’s cousin, was ring bearer.  He carried a pillow made by the groom’s maternal grandmother thirty-two years ago when it was used in the groom’s parents’ wedding in the same church.  The mixed spring flower arrangements flanking the communion table were in special memory of the groom’s grandparents.

Ms. Patti Felmet of Bonham provided pre-wedding music and accompanied the vocalist, Mr. Charlie Thompson of Bonham, who sang “The Lord’s Prayer.”  Ms. Morgan Hopson of Bonham, violinist, played the processionals and recessional and also provided music during the family seating and lighting of the Unity Candle.

The bride’s parents hosted an outdoor dinner reception honoring the newlyweds at the Harris Ranch, her maternal grandparents’ ranch at Bartley-Woods.  Guests dined on a barbeque dinner prepared by The Hickory Barbeque of Bonham.

Ms. Judy Clark, cousin of the bride, and Ms. Ethelyn Eaves, aunt of the bride, both of Ivanhoe, served the bride’s cake, a white tiered confection with lattice trim and topped with a bouquet of frosting flowers.

Ms. Leah Crawford of Sugarland and Ms. Melanie Raleeh of McKinney, cousins of the groom, served the groom’s cake, which was topped with a chocolate horned frog, the mascot of the groom’s alma mater, TCU.

After dining, guests were treated to a video showing the bride and groom at various milestones in their lives.  Immediately following the video, fireworks filled the sky behind the lake, sparkling in the darkening evening sky.

The couple and their friends and family then danced on a wooden dance floor cornered with poles twined with ivy and twinkling lights that formed an overhead gazebo.  Lights also twinkled on the house, trees, and dock that extended into the lake.

The newlyweds are residing in University Park in the Park City section of Dallas after a honeymoon trip to Maui.

The groom’s parents honored the wedding party, close friends and family with a rehearsal dinner at Shumardii’s Steakhouse in Bonham on Friday, April 15, at 7 o’clock in the evening.

Several parties and showers honored the couple prior to their wedding.  Mr. and Mrs. Don Cockerham, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Butch Baker, and Dr. and Mrs. Dana Sisk, all of Bonham, hosted a couple’s dinner and shower at the Cockerham’s home.  Ms. Peggy Crunk, Ms. Judy Clark, Ms. Ethelyn Eaves and Ms. Andrea Eaves, all of Ivanhoe, hosted a bridal shower at the Dew Drop Inn in Telephone.  Mrs. Mary Jane Neal of Bonham and Mrs. Melanie Raleeh of McKinney gave a miscellaneous bridal shower at the Neal home.

Three celebrations honoring the couple were held in the Dallas area.  Mr. and Mrs. John Biggers of University Park honored the couple with a dinner party at the Dallas Country Club in Highland Park.  Mr. and Mrs. Eric Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Jones of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. John McGowan of Highland Park held a dinner and couple’s shower at the Williams’ home.  Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Everheart of Corinth hosted a dinner party at Goodhues Wood Fired Grill in McKinney for the couple’s final pre-wedding festivity.
