Bonham, Texas - On June 24, 2005 the Courthouse staff honored Rochelle Turner District County Clerk with a Retirement Reception on the 2nd floor in the District Courtroom.  The Courtroom was packed with co-workers, family and friends from all over North Texas wanting to wish her the best as she takes a bit of well-earned rest!

Fannin County Judge Derrell Hall and retired District Judge Ray Grisham both spoke to the crowd about Rochelle, thanking her for the dedication she has shown Fannin County.  They both expressed to the crowd that everyone she has helped during her time as District Clerk would greatly miss her.

Rochelle has had a long and distinguished career serving Fannin County for 12 1/2 years as a mentor, ally and a constant friend to all who worked with her.  In 1993 Fannin County District Clerk Tommy Eaton hired her as Deputy Chief, after learning of Tommy’s retirement Rochelle decided to run as the next Fannin County District Clerk.

Rochelle stated, "The one thing about leaving was missing the public.  I will miss everyone so much.  I have always realized that the public was my boss, as they are the people who elected me to office and they are the ones who can take you right back out of office."

She gives all the credit of her success to the excellent staff that has been by her side for so many years. Rochelle also stated that Nancy Young, Office Manager of the District Clerk's office would be sworn in on Friday, July 1, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. as the newly appointed District Clerk.

Nancy is doing an outstanding job in the District Clerk's office and stated she is very fortunate to be working with a very confident and knowledgeable staff.
