BONHAM - VA North Texas Health Care System/Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center will host the 15th annual regional Veterans Day Program Thursday, November 10, 2005, 10 o'clock a.m. at the Bonham High School Warrior football stadium. Major Tonia J. Hatchett will serve as keynote speaker. Major Hatchett has served in the United States Air Force on active duty for seven years and has seventeen total years of military service. Currently, she holds the rank of Major as Commander of the 610th Services Flight, in the Air Force Reserves, assigned to Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth.
Major Hatchett, an ordained Elder of New Creation Christian Fellowship in San Antonio, Texas, is also a Chaplain with VA North Texas Health Care System, serving at both Bonham and Dallas. She is a Licensed Pastor and serves on the Kingdom Council of Interdependent Churches and Ministries. She is a member of the Association of Professional Chaplains, Black VA Chaplain's Association and the Military Chaplain's Association.
Additional participants in the program will include a performance by the Lone Star Chapter PVA Wheelchair Rifle Team, Army Field Artillery Half Section from Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and the Honor Guard by the Disabled American Veterans Bonham Chapter 129. Equipment and displays will include a CH 47 helicopter, trucks, humvee, and weapons.
