The 2005 Bonham High School Football Banquet was held Saturday night in the High School Gym. The Cafeteria was set up for a great meal catered by Hickory Barbecue, as the Highlight Film of the season played on monitors throughout the building.

Family and friends then gathered in the Gym to recognize the players, coaches, trainers, cheerleaders, sweetheart and homecoming queen of the District 9-3A Bi-District Champions and Area Finalists.

The Warriors finished the season with an 8-4 (4-1) record which earned them the District Championship. After suffering losses in their first two games to Sanger and Commerce, the Warriors ripped off 4 consecutive wins against Whitesboro, Pottsboro, Quinlan Ford, and then Princeton in their District opener. Farmersville slipped by Bonham in week 7, but the Warriors bounced right back with three wins over Royse City, Nevada Community, and Van Alstyne.

They went on to defeat Dallas Roosevelt for the Bi-District Championship, and were then defeated in Area Competition by Emory Rains.

Jared Hudson gave the invocation, and Head Coach Larry McFarlin started off the banquet by giving thanks to many different individuals and groups that helped make the past season a success. Each Senior then entered through the Warrior Tunnel and was introduced as "I Hope You Dance" played in the background.

Charles Butler introduced the guest speaker, and Marsh White gave a very nice message to the atheletes (see front page story). Awards and recognitions then followed, as each member was announced. The banquet concluded with the viewing of the Senior video, consisting of music and pictures of each Senior from their early days till now.

Even though it was the final football memory that the seniors will store away, it was a very good way to complete a very good season.
