Excited chatter filled the air in anticipation of visiting old castles, German concentration camps, and wine cellars when 25 Bonhi exes and guests gathered on Friday, February 17 in the home of Cindy Baker for a BonhiGET SET GO party to plan their fall trip to Europe.

Don Dodson, Class of 1960, is organizing the BonhiGET (Great European Trip) as he brings 20 years experience in planning and accompanying groups “across the water.”

Each traveler was presented with 4 personalized luggage tags (in purple and white, of course!), a zippered passport/document holder (embossed with BonhiGET), a calculator/travel clock, and an insulated mug.    A myriad of gift sets and souvenirs were awarded to the lucky door prize winners.

Traveling light was encouraged as Don suggested, “Pack your bag, drag it around the block, and then come back and empty half of it.”   His travel tip was met with Edwin Sloan’s whimsical solution to the problem---wear the same ensemble every day.

The BonhiGET will begin on September 30 when 40 Bonhi exes (from the 50s, 60s, and 70s) and guests from Texas, South Carolina, California, and New Mexico gather for a fun-filled and laughter-packed 2-week European tour.

If the GET SET GO party is any indication, the group will adhere to Don's No. 1 rule: “No grouches allowed.”
