DALLAS, TX, June 18, 2007 – The Muscular Dystrophy Association has issued arrest warrants for many of Dallas’s executives and community leaders.  As members of the area’s “Most Wanted,” these jailbirds are going to be “Locked Up” to benefit the MDA.  Stephanie Edgington, manager of Carrabba’s, will be participating in the Midtown Dallas Red Carpet Rally for a Cure Lock-Up on June 28.

Going above and beyond her duty as an MDA jailbird, Stephanie will open Carrabba’s at 6130 Luther Lane in Dallas for lunch on Saturday June 23. The restaurant is normally closed for lunch but on June 23 from 11 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. she will serve two entrees, and all of the proceeds will go toward her bail for the Midtown Dallas Lock-Up the following Thursday.

This year’s jailbirds are each encouraged to raise an impressive $3,250 for MDA. Proceeds from the Lock-Up benefit MDA’s Summer Camp, as well as assist more than 3,000 families in North Texas.  These funds enable MDA to continue to provide the very best in patient care and services, including clinic visits, orthopedic equipment, support groups, and a worldwide research effort seeking treatments and cures for the 43 neuromuscular diseases covered by the association.

MDA (www.mda.org) is a voluntary health agency working to provide programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education for neuromuscular diseases. The largest campaign for MDA is the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon, which will be featured locally on KXAS NBC Channel 5 on September 3.
