Savoy's Morgan Harris named Beta Scholar

Savoy, Texas – The National Beta Club announced today that Morgan Harris has been named a Beta Scholar which entitles her to a scholarship amount of $1,000.00. 

 

Morgan Harris, a senior at Savoy High School, competed against more than 1200 candidates nationwide for this honor.  Two hundred thirteen scholarship recipients were chosen.  Morgan plans to attend Grayson County Community College in Denison, Texas.   She was recommended for this award by the local Beta club sponsors, Tammy Smith and Stephanie Sweet, and the high school principal, Michael W. Smith.

 

“This outstanding young person represents the true spirit of National Beta, having excelled not only academically, but in leadership and service to school and community as well,” said Mrs. Joan Burnett, interim executive director of the National Beta Club.

 

 

Morgan Harris is the daughter of Bill and Dana Harris of Savoy, Texas.  Her grandparents are Walt and Nettie Harris and June Ives and the late Lewis Ives.
