Lunch Money Now!
The Child Nutrition Department of Sherman ISD is implementing an innovative new service for our students and parents. This exciting new service is called Lunch Money Now. Lunch Money Now is a program that will permit parents to access their student’s cafeteria account via the Internet.
This access will provide the parent with the ability to do several things including checking the student’s balance, viewing the student’s purchase history, and making deposits to the child’s lunch money account using a credit card. Parents are also able to subscribe for email warnings when their child's account dips below a specified threshold reminding the parent that their child's balance needs attention.
The credit card deposits are made using a secure transaction site and are typically available within 30 minutes of the transaction during the regular school day. You can make deposits to multiple accounts with the same credit card transaction. There is a $2.50 fee for this service.
The access to your student’s account is also secure requiring several items of student identification to view balances, view purchase history and make deposits via the Internet.
You may gain access to Lunch Money Now by going to the District web site (www.shermanisd.net). You may also access additional information and step by step instructions on how to use all the features of Lunch Money Now by following the links on this web site. Of course, you may put money on your child’s account at any time by simply sending or bringing cash or a check to a school cafeteria where it can be entered directly to a child’s account. If you need further information, call us at 903-891-6426.

Sherman Orchestra Boosters Association at Arts Fest!
-SOBA release
The newly formed Sherman Orchestra Boosters Association (SOBA) will be at Arts Fest on Sept. 20th in Downtown Sherman! The orchestra students will also be playing on the Oliver Dewey Mayor Stage at 10am. After the performance, the students will be presenting an instrumental "meet and greet" for the younger crowd! If you or your child has ever wanted to see the strings up close and personal, experience how they are played or just wondered what that really big stringed instrument is, come by and see them!
SOBA was founded by SISD Orchestra parents for the purpose of enhancing the education of our students through the exploration of the beauty of music. We encourage our students to achieve their highest potential as they grow more confident and assertive in their learning experience.
Come help us make a positive difference in the lives of our orchestra students. Parental and community support is vital to the success of SOBA and our orchestra students. SOBA general meetings are held as needed on the first Thursday of each month and are open to the community.
Memberships are available at only $5.00 per person! For more information, you may email SOBA at sobasisd@hotmail.com or please visit the SOBA website at www.shermanisd.net/shs/orchestra/orchestra_index.htm.

Bearcat Athletic Boosters
Sherman High School extra curricular clubs and activities are thankful to have the support of parent booster clubs. Whether it is the band or athletics, parent and community support is vital to the quality and continued success of these activities. One such parent club is the Bearcat Athletic Boosters. Many of the extras that cannot be purchased with school funds but are needed to sustain and promote a high quality program have been given through the Athletic Booster Club. This year alone, the booster club, along with generous Grayson County businesses, purchased over $15,000 worth of equipment for all athletic teams at Sherman. Purchases cover everything from medical equipment for the training room, travel bags, the famous yard signs for varsity players, video equipment, shoes, swim suits, the Bearcat head run-through, scorers table, new JV lockers and probably the most noticeable, the fabulous LCD football scoreboard. The Athletic Booster Club parents deserve accolades for their diligence and hard work in fundraising for all these supplies. The 2007-2008 Booster Club president, Nancy Kirkpatrick, wishes to thank the many volunteers and businesses for joining the Bearcat Athletic Booster Club and strongly encourages the parents of all SHS athletes to join in the coming 2008-2009 season.
There are over 600 students involved in SHS athletic programs and yet only 100 ABC members, many of which are community businesses. "We know there are parents who are willing to become involved but may not know how. They can start by becoming a dues-paying member," stated Lisa Dick, the 2008-2009 ABC president. Membership prices begin at $25 and may be purchased at the home football games or by calling Beverly at the Sherman High School athletic office.
