Never doubt the effect of a good boss.
The best supervisors can turn a workforce into a highly efficient and productive team. On the other hand, a Gallup Poll estimates that U.S. Corporations lose $360 billion annually in lost production because employees are dissatisfied with their boss.
A good boss leads by example and transforms the workplace with effective communication and many of the best bosses in the Bonham Area were honored Monday by Bonham Business and Professional Women.
Bonham BPW formed 26 years ago. For about 20 years now, this organization has set aside one very special day to recognize the value of leadership by selecting a Boss of the Year. A large crowd filled the Family Life Center in anticipation of this year's winner.
Bonham BPW secretary Judy Teller announced the finalists for 2008. Randy Bowen, Sandy Barber, Eileen Cox, Lou Ann Daniel, Jerrie Faulkner, Richard Glaser, Renee Harvey, Bill Jones, Joyce Kepley, Linda Gazaway, Maureen Reeder and Tammy Rich were all nominated by grateful employees.
Out of this list of outstanding supervisors, Bonham Business and Professional Women named Bill Jones as Boss of the Year.
"I thank all of you that made this possible," Mr. Jones remarked.
Every year Bonham BPW also selects one organization member to be recognized for dedication to the club and service to the community. The 2008 Woman of the Year is Bonham BPW president Ruth Ann Moore.
