North Lamar proved they are the team to beat in District 10-3A as the Panthers scored seven runs in the top of the first inning en route to a 16-3 run-rule win over Bonham Tuesday night.  Both teams came into the contest with only one district loss.

It didn't take long for the fireworks to start as North Lamar picked up a two-run homer by Micah Morton, their second batter of the game.  A checked swing, bloop single also scored a pair of runs and when the dust settled North Lamar was up 7-0.

Brian Crutcher laced a single to left field to open the bottom half of the first frame and Jeff Hill walked.  A single by Aaron Hunson scored Crutcher, but that was all the runs Bonham could manage until Braxton Hines lofted a shot over the left field fence in the second inning with Dylon Garcia on base to make the score 7-3.

North Lamar piled on six more runs in the third stanza to give the Panthers a 13-3 cushion, but a three-run homer by Ben Felts pushed the score to 16-3.

North Lamar had 12 hits in the contest and Bonham finished with eight hits.

Brian Crutcher went 3-for-3 against the Panther pitching, Braxton Hines added a home run and a single, Josh Patton was 1-for-2, while Jeff Hill and Aaron Hudson both had 1-for-3 performances with the bat.
