Barbecue lovers rally at "Ribs for Rehab," a major 'fun-raiser' for the Rehabilitation Center, Therapeutic Solutions for Children and Adults. Money raised will help fund services for people with disabilities and disorders who are un- or under-insured. "Ribs for Rehab" will be Friday, June 19, 5-9 pm at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom.

Ribs and an assortment of meats from Dickey's Barbecue Pit will be served. Drinks and desserts are provided at no additional cost. Willy Kickit will provide dance music and past winners of the 'Search for the Stars' Telethon will entertain the audience. More than 50 local businesses have donated items for the Paula Graham Memorial Silent Auction.

Susan Vardell, Executive Director for the Rehab Center, said that even though the annual event is fun for all ages, it focuses on food and fund-raising. "This is serious barbecue for serious charity," she said.  "Every wise shopper walked home with a bargain from the Silent Auction last year," she said. "Everything from airplane rides to home furnishings to spa packages will be on the auction block this year."
