The Commerce Tigers pulled away from Bonham to lead 36-0 after three quarters en route to a 42-6 win in front of their hometown fans at Texas A&M University-Commerce Memorial Stadium on Friday night.
Commerce quarterback Terrance Walker ran for one score and had a touchdown pass to lead the Tigers to a 22-0 lead at halftime.
A short TD run gave Commerce a 29-0 advantage with 4:51 left to play in the third period. Walker hit wide receiver Chris Brown on a textbook fade pattern to set up another short touchdown run that stretched the lead to 36-0 going into the fourth quarter.
Speedy Commerce running back Jurace Brown gave Bonham fits all night and Brown pushed the score to 42-0 when he started left, reversed field and outran the defense to go in standing up from 25 yards out.
Bonham's lone score came when Commerce fumbled near their own goal line and Tyson Henson fell on the ball for six points.
Commerce improves to 1-6 on the year and 1-1 in District 10-3A. Bonham falls to 0-7 and 0-2.
Around the district, Paris is now 2-0 after handily defeating North Lamar, 27-14. North Lamar is now 1-1.
Van Alstyne is tied with Paris at 2-0 after the Panthers put away Anna, 28-7. Anna falls to 0-2.
