Charles Butler announces his candidacy for Fannin County Court at Law Judge

Attorney Charles Butler is announcing his candidacy as a Republican for the position of judge of the newly created Fannin County Court at Law.
This court was created by the last legislative session through the hard work of Representative Larry Phillips and Senator Bob Deuell and will serve all of Fannin County to help address the backlog of cases. With civil and criminal jurisdiction, this court will function in harmony with the 336th District Court to serve the citizens.
A lifelong conservative, Charles Butler is a local attorney, businessman and community leader with trial experience in both state and federal courts. Having been involved in CASA training and seminars, as well as, being a qualified Attorney Ad Litem for children. Charles is a tireless worker for children and families in Fannin County.
Charles has served the community as past president of the following organizations: Bonham Chamber of Commerce, Bonham Rotary Club, Bonham Independent School District and Fannin County Ducks Unlimited Chapter. Additionally, Charles coached Little Dribblers for 13 years, coached Little League baseball; and volunteered for the March of Dimes, American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. He is a current member of the Creative Arts Center and on the Fannin County advisory board for Grayson County College.
Charles has been married for 30 years to Karen McElhannon Butler, office manager for Doris Shockley's State Farm agency. She is also active in the Fannin County Republican Party. They have two children: Chase, who will graduate in May from law school at St. Mary's University in San Antonio and Caitlin, who will graduate in May with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler. The Butlers are members of the First United Methodist Church in Bonham.
As judge, Charles Butler will work diligently to make all citizens safer in their homes and community by being tough on criminals, by deciding cases according to the law and not local politics, by holding lawyers accountable and by respecting the sanctity of life.
Charles is asking for your vote on March 2, 2010 in the Republican Primary where he is unopposed and in the November 2, 2010 general election. Theodore Roosevelt once said, "It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena."
