At the Tom Bean City Council meeting last week, Mayor Sherry E. Howard presented the 2009 Employee of the Year award to Chief Michael Webster and the January Employee of the Month to Public Works David Phillips.

The Employee of the Month award is given to an outstanding city employee chosen by the mayor for some cost savings idea/outstanding job performance for the month/etc. 

The Employee of the Year award is given to a member of the staff who has excelled in job performance, community services, working relationships and is also chosen by the mayor.

Each was presented a photo plaque along with a monetary award from Tom Bean Mayor Sherry Howard. 

This type of recognition is very important for the morale along with being recognized among their peers.  The city of Tom Bean is very fortunate to have outstanding employees on staff and they strive to be respectful and courteous to all our citizens.
