Sherman -- Several area college volleyball teams got a chance to measure their progress during the offseason Saturday at the Austin College Spring Volleyball Tournament.

Austin College, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Paris Junior College, Brookhaven College, Howard Payne University, Richland College, UT-Dallas, Southwest Christian College and Cisco College all participated in the tournament.

"It gives me a chance to see what I need to do," said Austin College head coach Ed Garza, "and it gives a lot of our athletes a chance to play."
