DALLAS, TEXAS –   The 60,000-square-foot Ronald McDonald House of Dallas is open and fully operational.  Designed by HKS Architects, the house is located in the Southwestern Medical District – near Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, the two largest referring hospitals to the Ronald McDonald House.

The 60-family House provides families with a place of healing, comfort and safety.  Amenities include a lobby, great room, day respite room, activity/crafts room, play room, game room, teen/tween room, media room, exercise room, meditation room, community room, library, laundry facilities, a large open kitchen and family kitchen, outdoor activity area, meditation garden and courtyard with pavilion and outdoor grills.

HKS Architects, HKS Commercial Interiors and Hill & Wilkinson General Contractors provided reduced fees for services.  The team also secured in-kind donations totaling more than $1 million to help defray the cost of the building. “Several consultants with whom HKS and Hill & Wilkinson have a wonderful relationship donated their time and expertise to the project,” explained David Beller, vice president/project manager, HKS, Inc.
