Virgil Lampton
-- Earth, Wind, Sky --

McKINNEY, TEXAS -- Virgil Lampton's paintings jump off the canvas with a high energy of strong yet graceful brush strokes capturing the essence of the light-drenched Southwestern landscape.   He paints with the combination of abstract expressionism and traditional American landscape styles.   Lampton's compositions are educed from the effects of light, weather, and atmosphere.

The viewer sees the beauty and rhythmic dance of nature.  His large forms are delicately balanced with waves of vibrant colors.  Each painting, though abstract, exudes a climate that evokes a feeling of the elements earth, wind, and sky.
