Honey Grove -- It was a parade of vintage vehicles rolling into historic downtown Honey Grove Saturday as over 100 antique and classic automobiles that comprised the 42nd annual Bug Tussle Trek stopped by "the sweetest town in Texas" for lunch during their annual tour of North Texas.

These adventurous men and women started their journey in McKinney Saturday morning.  As is customary in the Bug Tussle Trek, vehicles from circa 1910-1920 led this casual cruse, followed by classic makes and models from the mid-20th Century, with newer automobiles at the back.

"We line up by age in the Trek...the cars, that is," joked Wagon Master George Smith.

The caravan doesn't travel faster that 35mph so the Model A's don't get left behind.

A police escort led the dazzling parade of 100 classic vehicles in Honey Grove, where the Honey Grove Chamber of Commerce had the Civic Center open and soft drinks waiting.  Most of the Trekkers had prepared picnic baskets filled with delightful culinary treats for this annual highlight.

This year, Jan Allen was at the Civic Center to offer a free tasting of her new-to-the-market Bugtussle Burn Salsa.  The Bug Tussle Trekkers were thrilled and amazed to see and taste the new product from their namesake’s town.  In fact, the Allen’s live on their ranch in Bug Tussle, Texas.  Jan had a special price that day for all of the trekkers, in their honor.  The Trekkers were tickled and soon all the Bugtussle Burn had been sold out.

A crowd gathered in downtown Honey Grove to look over this amazing collection of classic cars, as well as to visit with the fascinating vehicle owners that participate in the annual Bug Tussle Trek.

After the stop in Honey Grove, Trekkers headed east for Paris, where the groups spent the night.  On Sunday, this unique caravan stopped in Greenville for a visit.
