The 2010 Bonham Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade Committee has chosen “A Cowboy Christmas” as the theme of their Friday, December 10 parade this year, and are planning a chili supper and real Cowboy Music Show immediately after the parade.

The chili supper will be held at L.H. Rather Jr. High Cafeteria, 2101 North Main, and the show will be next door at the Auditorium at 1200 N. Main.

The parade will begin at 6 pm and the chili supper will begin immediately after the parade.  The music show will begin at 7:30 pm.  The cost of advanced tickets for the chili supper and show will be $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.  Children under 6 will be free.

Ticket prices at the door will be $12 for adults and $7 for children under 12.  Children under 6 will be free.  Advance tickets are available at the Chamber and other locations around town.  Look for the posters.

The parade rout will again be from 6th Street & North Main South to Sam Rayburn Drive, then East to Center Street, then North on Center to 9th Street.  Entries in the Parade will have designated spots to line-up North on Main Street from 7th to past 16th street.  Float judging will begin at 5:15 pm at your designated place to line-up for the Parade,

“This will be a real Cowboy Music Show and we have lined up 11 of the top professional cowboy entertainers for this event,” said show coordinator Royce Smithey, who will also be one of the entertainers. “These are cowboy musicians who travel all over the country performing at shows like this,” Smithey said.  “We are proud and honored to have them in Bonham.”  he added.

The list of entertainer for the show are: Devon Dawson & Outlaw Jessie, Allan Chapman, “Rodeo Kate” Chapman – WMA Instrumentalist of the Year, Buck “The Big Man” Helton, Judy James, Bob Miller, Stan Mahler, Teresa Burleson, Chuck Dawson, and Royce Smithey.

If you are a cowboy music fan you will recognize that these are some of the tops in the field.

We will be producing a program for the Music Show and you have an opportunity to get an ad in the program and receive some tickets to resale or give away at your business.  Call Bill or Gayle at the Chamber at 903-583-4811 to find out more about this great opportunity.  Watch your email for more about this chance to get extra promotion.

Of course, the Parade will feature some great floats, bands and units all decorated in the “Cowboy Christmas” theme.  You can start planning your float entry for the parade now with the “Cowboy Christmas” theme in mind, and mark Friday, December 10, 2010 on your Calendar as a full evening of fun, food, and entertainment.

“This is a really great opportunity for us in Fannin County to be able to have this caliber of entertainment.  We owe a great big thank you to Royce Smithey who has been traveling around the country himself for many years performing at these cowboy shows.  His association and friendship with these top entertainers has allowed us to bring them to Bonham to make the Christmas Parade evening one to remember at an affordable price,”  said Chamber Executive, Bill Jones.

“Let’s make sure we have a great turnout to this event to show our appreciation to these wonderful entertainers who have given of their time and talent to help make this event possible,”  added Jones.

If you plan to participate in the parade this year, please call the Chamber today at 903-583-4811 for an entry form and instructions.
