Bonham, Texas -- Graveside services for Mr. Robert Arthur Millard, Sr., age 83, of Bonham, and former resident of Wills Point and Greenville, Texas, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas.  Mr. Millard died on April 3, 2011 at the Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Nursing Home in Bonham, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara.

 

Mr. Millard was born on November 7, 1927 in Middletown, Ohio, the son of Everett E. Millard and Betty Ingram Millard.  He graduated from the Middletown High School and later attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  He served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948 and was for a time stationed in Corpus Christi.  

 

Mr. Millard later was involved with the American Legion in Colorado with projects to honor veterans from all US wars and achieved the position of Vice Commander.  He enjoyed music of all types, dancing, singing and writing poetry.
