SHERMAN, Texas — The Sherman Museum announced that John Lee Boyer will be the guest speaker at the museum’s April 22, 2011 monthly Lunch Lecture series event. The event will begin at noon and last until 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Boyer will recreate the role of a migrant musician/worker during the Great Depression days of the 1930s. He tells the story of a young man displaced by the effects of the Dust Bowl and hard economic times. His narration is interspersed with the folk songs of Woody Guthrie, Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter family.

All friends of the Museum and interested parties are invited to attend. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch; chips and bottled water are available for a small donation. The Jones Street door will open at 11:30 a.m. for easier access to the lecture room.

The Sherman Museum is located at 301 South Walnut in Sherman, Texas.
