Honey Grove, Texas -- Henry F. Morgan, 85, of Honey Grove passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Clyde Cosper State Veterans Home in Bonham.  Mr. Morgan was born on September 24, 1925 in Wolfe City, Texas to Elijah William Morgan and Annie Bell Farris Morgan.  He grew up in and around Wolfe City and graduated from Wolfe City High School. 

 

Mr. Morgan obtained a degree in business administration from Draughn’s Business College in Dallas.  He was retired from E-Systems, now L-3, in Greenville, Texas. Mr. Morgan married Betty Annett in Ft. Worth on February 27, 1965.

 

Mr. Morgan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Honey Grove and a longtime, former member of First Baptist Church of Trenton, Texas.  He was an ordained deacon and served in this capacity until his health no longer permitted him to serve.  He also served in several other positions in the church.

 

 

Survivors are his wife of Honey Grove; a daughter, Robbie Ashcraft and  husband Monte of Honey Grove;  two sons; Bobby Morgan of Trenton, Texas and Mark Annett and Linda Raney of Chicota, Texas, one grandaughter; Emily Ashcraft of Honey Grove, two grandsons; Evan Ashcraft of Honey Grove and Tony Annett of Orlando, Fla.   Mr. Morgan is also survived by a sister, Annetta Stegman of Quinlan, Texas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

 

Services for Mr. Morgan will be Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home, Wolfe City conducted by Bro. Jerry Smith.  Burial will follow in the Webb Hill Cemetery in Wolfe  City with military honors.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening, May 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Owens Funeral Home in Wolfe City.

 

Pallbearers will be Jeff Barnes, Jeff Stogsdill, Phillip Allison, Bobby Martin, Steve Beasley and David Dailey.
