McKinney, Texas meets Bavaria as Oktoberfest comes to life in Historic Downtown McKinney. This family-friendly event kicks off on Friday, September 23 and will continue through Saturday, September 24. McKinney Main Street, supporting sponsors and the shops in downtown McKinney will host non-stop activities in the heart of our great city. It’s all to celebrate the popular tradition which began in Munich, Germany 200 years ago.

Germans have a special word – Gemütlichkeit – suggesting a warm atmosphere of open and generous hospitality and that is how we will welcome families and friends during this 2-day event in historic downtown McKinney.

Guests can enjoy authentic German beer, wine and all of the German cuisine that you would find if you were right in the middle Munich. The kiddos will have a ball at Oktoberfest with interactive activities and offerings including weenie-dog races, face painting, petting zoo and arts and crafts of all types.

Dennis Wehrmann (right) owner of Franconia Brewing Company in McKinney and a native of Bavaria, visits with German dancers.

We invite you to join us for a fun, family-friendly event offering authentic German music, food and drink, traditional costumes, dancing, children’s activities, and much more.
