Bonham -- “Life Matters” was the theme of the banquet that was hosted by the Fannin Pregnancy Care Center in the beautiful Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, Bonham. The banquet, held on Tuesday, October 4, was the fourth annual event to be held since the Center opened its doors.
The guest speaker for the evening was Dr. William Weise IV, who is a prominent OB/GYN physician in Allen, Texas. Dr. Weise has a unique testimony of the value of life, as his parents were advised to abort him when his mother contracted German measles during her pregnancy which was likely to cause the unborn child to be deaf, blind and have brain damage. Because of her choice for life, Dr. Weise has impacted many, not only as physician, but also as an author. In his book, Baby Catcher; True Stories From The Life Of An Obstetrician, he relates personal stories from his life and practice.
The success of the banquet was besides the many volunteers, who prepared and served the food, decorated the western/fall style room and greeted guests due to those who contributed financially for the coming year. The Center would like to thank Kenny Karl for contacting the table hosts, among which were Joe Ward and Joe Strong, the families of FPCC Board members, Mike Bankston, Susan Brinlee, Michael Evans, Kenny Karl, Randy Moore, Wayne Moore, Pastor Liz Talbert and Larry Threadgill. Also a big thank you goes to Senator Bob Deuell, for supporting the Center by underwriting a large portion of the banquet. The proceeds from the evening’s donations will be used to continue the relational health and abstinence classes in Fannin County middle and high schools and to minister to young women who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy.
