Funeral services for Allen Leon Stanford, age 77 of Kemp, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Anderson Clayton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Kemp.  Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Ravenna under the direction of Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens of Seagoville. 

Allen Leon Stanford was born on December 28, 1934 in Ravenna, Texas, a son of the late Mance and Dovie Lee Newton Stanford and passed away on February 11, 2012 at his residence in Kemp.  He was a truck driver for several years and then worked with the Teamsters Local Union 745 as a representative for several years. 

Allen was a Christian and was married to Joann Sanders in 1963.  He enjoyed his cattle and horse ranching and was a very giving person who loved to help other people and loved his family.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Darrell Stanford, grandson Joseph Ferrell as well as two brothers. 

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 50 years, Joann Stanford of Kemp; Daughters Deena Spakes and her husband Marty of Kemp and Belinda Ferrell of Colorado and a son, Steve Stanford of Balch Springs; grandchildren Salina Spakes of Kemp, Katrina Canida and her husband Robert of Kemp, “Little” Marty Spakes of Kemp, Pius Ferrell and his wife Misty of Kemp and Avery Ferrell of Kaufman; great grandchildren, Danny Spakes, Delanie Spakes, Abbye Canida, Lacey Weisinger, Bree Weisinger and Emilee Weisinger; sisters Juanita and Carolyn as well as numerous other friends and relatives.
