Atoka, Oklahoma -- Funeral services for William James “Scotty” Scott, 65, an Atoka area resident, will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Wards Chapel Baptist Church, Wards Chapel, Oklahoma.  Bro. Tom Hargrave will officiate and interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery, Atoka, Oklahoma.

Scotty passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012 at his home in Atoka, OK. He was born Friday, March 22, 1946, to Luther and Mary Allred (Blankenship) Scott, in Atoka, Oklahoma.  He attended Limestone Gap and graduated Morris High School in Morris, Oklahoma.

Scotty was a rancher, worked for Henson’s Propane, 3 in 1 oil, Black Gold Filling Station, and over the years he also worked in the oilfields, as a butcher and a truck driver. He married Marsha Elaine (Lewis) on September 22, 1985 in Atoka, Oklahoma by Bob McCastlin.  Scotty was a member of the Wards Chapel Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed golf, cattle, horses, and raising chickens. His favorite thing was his precious wife.

    James Scott and wife Misty of Whitewright, Tx.
STEPSON;   David Joplin of  Atoka, Ok.

    Mary Fitzpatrick and husband Jimmy of Albuquerque, Nm.
GRANDCHILDREN:  31 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren

Scotty was predeceased by his parents, Luther and Mary Allred (Blankenship) Scott; stepfater, Calvin Blankenship; siblings, Aubrey Scott, Albert Luther Scott, Juddy Lee Scott, Barbara Perry,
Thelma Scott, Audrey Scott, Stella Scott, Christine Scott, and Margaret Scott; and stepson B.J. Joplin.

Pallbearers will be Steve Mansell, Dana Smith, Mike Bourne,
Craig Veifhaus, John Doolen and Mike Himes.


Honorary pallbearerswill be Jim Pool, Ronnie Cochran, Tott Calvert, Ronnie Faulkenberry,  Junior Riley, Atoka Trails Golf Club, Ricky Loudermilk and Ernie Griffin.
