Jackie’s life started in an orphanage called Hope Cottage. Her soon-to-be parents J. S. Patterson and Mildred Fowler Patterson decided to adopt a child since they could not have one. After the closing of Perrin Field Jackie worked as a purchasing agent at the Veterans Hospital in Bonham, Texas retiring in 1987.
