Bonham Warrior D.C. Porter has committed to attend Howard Payne University to continue his education and football playing career.  Howard Payne is a NCAA Division III school that participates in the American Southwest Conference.  It is located in Brownwood, Texas.

D.C. leaves the Warriors after a very successful career.  Porter was a three-year starter for the Warrior football team in the defensive backfield.  After earning all-district honors as a defensive back in 2010, D.C. responded with another all-district selection in 2011 as a senior tight end.

“D.C. really is a football player.  He loves the game and will work hard to be successful at the next level.  His passion for the game will carry him as far as he wants to go,” said Warrior head football coach Dale Trompler.  “He has been through a lot with me in my three years here.  It started with him as a sophomore starting on defense and serving as our back-up quarterback.  In his junior season, in addition to starting defensively, he split time at quarterback with fellow teammate Clay Parsons.  They both did what I needed them to do and did it well.  As a senior, I asked DC to play a position that he had not in the past out of necessity.  He responded with an all-district selection at that position. He played injured most of his senior season and played well.  We will miss him here and wish him all the best.  Howard Payne is getting a good deal.”
