Denison, Texas -  Hollis Marshall Jenkins, Jr. passed away from natural causes on June 29, 2012 at Sam Rayburn Memorial Center in Bonham, Texas.  Hollis referred to as “Junior” by friends and family, was born on December 21, 1925 in Wellington, Texas the son of Hollis Marshall Jenkins and Emma Alley Jenkins.  Junior lived in Savoy, Texas until he moved to Denison, Texas at the age of 12.  Junior began working for the late Charlie Sherrard at the age of 16.

 

Junior worked as a heavy equipment operator until he retired in 1974.  He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2773 and the Disabled American Veterans.

 

 

He is survived by his wife Joann Jenkins of Denison, Texas, and sisters-in-law Hattie Clark of Sherman and Joyce Cummins of Calera, Oklahoma.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Billie Ruth Corder.

 

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at Carson Cemetery in Ector, Texas.  Dr. Lowell Howard will officiate.  Arrangements are under the direction of Mullican-Little Funeral Home of Bells/Savoy, Texas.

 

 The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home.

 

  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Hollis’ name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2910 Swiss Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204.
